With a well-developed range of facilities and services, a most pleasant and exciting tropical climate and an excellent geographic location, Belém is quickly becoming known as the "natural gateway to the Amazon". Considered one of Brazil's ten most important cities, it is a metropolis dropped into the Amazon region.
It lies on one of the Amazon River's main tributaries.

 .: DESCRIPTION OF TOURS

Transfers in & out:
The client will be met and assisted at the airport/hotel by our bilingual tour guide and taken to destinations in an air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. Along the way, the guide will explain the main attractions and tours that the city can offer during the guest's stay in Belém.

Half day city tour:
Guests will leave the hotel for a drive toward the typical Ver-o-Peso market, where Brazilians sell everything from produce, fish and meat, to crocodile teeth, essence of uirapira (taken from a songbird and used to attract lovers) and herbs for any imaginable use. Guest will also visit the Castelo Fortress, the Cathedral, commonly known as Igreja da Sé, which is the departure point for the famous religious procession Círio de Nazaré.
Other sites including the Teatro da Paz, Basílica Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, the Emílio Goeldi Museum and the handcraft fair.

Full day tour to Mosqueiro island:
Mosqueiro Island is known as the "Bucolic Island". Guests will be driven through the Belém/Brasília highway to visit the industrial area along the Belém/Mosqueiro road. The drive will cross the "Furo das Marinhas" by ferryboat, providing direct contact with the Amazon Jungle. The islands offer a channel of about eight beaches, all located on the riverbanks. You will have lunch at a hotel located on the island.

Marajó Island package (two nights at Pousada dos Guarás):
Marajó Island is bigger than Denmark! It sits between the Pará and Amazon Rivers, and it is full of natural beauty, including numerous swamps, inland lakes and several slow, winding streams. The island hosts a wide variety of exotic plants and animals, including numerous birds, monkeys, snakes and wild pigs. Located in Salvaterra, one of the most pleasant cities in Marajó Island, is a place called Pousada dos Guarás. This place has a privileged location, ecological and fresh water beaches bathed by the Marajó Bay and a natural lake surrounded by tropical gardens. There, we have five bungalows with four rooms each, offering a nice and comfortable stay for our guests.

The program comprises:
1st day: Transfer from the hotel in Belém to the pier for a ferryboat cruise to the city of Salvaterra on Marajó Island. Upon arrival, transfer to the Pousada dos Guarás and check-in at a private bungalow. After lunch, visit to the city of Souré and its leather handcraft factory, followed by a visit to Arruna beach, where visitors can watch several regional birds in their natural habitat. In the afternoon return to the hotel through swamp bridges surrounded by crabs.
2nd day: After breakfast, departure on a regional boat to visit a buffalo farm, where guests will have the opportunity to observe the flora and fauna on a three-hour trip across the forest. Horse and buffalo rides will be available, and we will also visit a cheese and manioc flour factory. Return to the hotel for lunch.
At 4:30pm, we will depart to the historical city of Joanez, where the Spanish navigator Vincent Yanez Pizon founded a Jesuit school. At night, after dinner, you can enjoy a native show with folkloric dances.
3rd day: After breakfast, depart for a jungle trek around the hotel area. Lunch and transfer back by ferryboat to Belém.
